Anonymous asked: Gee, how about you study the fact that female subs are complying with and reinforcing violent, misogynistic gender norms, and that claiming to be feminist while actively supporting existing power structures is complete bullshit.
[sarcasm] Saying women can’t make choices for themselves because they have been oppressed—how “radically feminist” of you.
We’re all just victims, don’t you know? Worthless victims, incapable of making our own choices because we’re so innately broken by men. Surely the only reason I have submitted to my partners (who are of varying genders) is because I feel inferior to them, not because I openly love it.
Even though a bunch of them were women—it’s misogyny, right? Even though some were genderqueer or trans—it’s still misogyny, right? Because anyone willing to treat me the way I like to be treated is just aiding in the patriarchy, even when those people don’t have gender privilege over me.
Of course, you DID say “female subs.” So, remember folks, it’s only wrong if females do it—this is true feminism. [/sarcasm]
Reblogging because this still makes me angry.
The idea that my sex life makes radical feminists angry kind of turns me on.This is why I lovesubmissivefeminist. I’m currently trying to make an argument in a paper that submission is a form of female agency through gender performance. Because of this lady’s and many other ladies’ brilliance, I feel completely confident in my argument. I live my evidence everyday. Am I saying we shouldn’t be critical of kink? No. I’m saying people should chill the fuck out, breathe for a second, and consider that even in a socially constructed world people have choice. They have agency. Respecting that agency is a crucial part of being a good human being.
